Samsung India has set up 10 dedicated STEM labs equipped with interactive learning tools and practical educational equipment as part of its collaboration with the UN Global Compact Network India (UNGCNI).
The initiative is designed to help students move beyond classroom theory through experiments and activity-based learning. The programme also uses Building as Learning Aid (BaLA), turning school walls and common spaces into interactive learning areas featuring themes around science, mathematics, sustainability and sports.
SH Yoon, President, Samsung Chennai Plant, said, “Education is most meaningful when it inspires curiosity and encourages students to learn by doing. Through DigiArivu, Samsung is working with schools in Tamil Nadu to create engaging learning environments.”
The programme also focuses on teacher development and school infrastructure, helping educators support more practical and experiential approaches to STEM education.
Ratnesh Jha, Executive Director, United Nations Global Compact Network India, said, “Our collaboration with Samsung through DigiArivu reflects a shared commitment to strengthening quality education and expanding opportunities for young learners.”
The initiative covers government schools across five locations in Kanchipuram and five in Ranipet. Samsung plans to extend DigiArivu to additional districts, further expanding access to STEM education and activity-based learning.
