Intellipaat, an edtech giant, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur to launch two M.Tech online degree programmes: M.Tech in Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) and M.Tech in Applied AI and Communications. The admission process for the upcoming cohort has already started, a statement from Intellipaat notified.

According to the statement, the programmes do not require any GAT score and students with science and engineering background with a degree in BE, B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc, etc. are eligible to apply. The programmes have been designed for working professionals and freshers by the VNIT faculty, in consultation with industry experts to provide high-quality education on the latest high-in-demand technologies.

Pramod M Padole, Director VNIT, Nagpur, said in the statement, “The demand for talent in AI and Machine Learning (ML) has increased by almost 75 per cent over the last few years, and it is only expected to grow further from here on. These M.Tech programmes are meant to provide high-quality education on such in-demand digital skills to learners, and are mentored by VNIT faculty and industry experts. We believe a large section of society will benefit from this initiative in their professional career growth.”

The online programmes will be conducted via faculty-led lectures, hackathons and one-on-one mentorship. These programmes are at equivalent status to the regular full time M.Tech programme with a duration of two years. Learners must complete their dissertation in the final year. The cost of these programmes are kept at an affordable range of Rs 2,00,000/year, apart from the one-time university-registration fees, mentioned the statement.

Diwakar Chittora, Founder and CEO, Intellipaat, also said in the statement, “These degree programmes aim to support working professionals in pursuing their studies without leaving their jobs, enabling them to acquire skills in cutting-edge technologies. These will establish a new benchmark for high-quality education in online degrees, emphasising professional career advancement. This initiative represents a significant step towards democratising education.
