Orient Electric challenges India’s ‘Chalta Hai’ mindset

Orient Electric has launched its latest Independence Day campaign, ‘Chalta Hai, Ab Nahi Chalega’, urging consumers to reconsider the tendency to accept everyday compromises.

The campaign film centres on a family and highlights how the phrase ‘chalta hai’ becomes part of daily behaviour. A young boy observes his parents and grandfather overlooking minor compromises before eventually adopting the same attitude himself. The campaign uses this moment to underline how habits within families can shape the mindset of children.

Anika Agarwal, company spokesperson, said, “When we normalise small compromises at home, we unwittingly set a lower bar for the next generation.”

According to the company, the campaign reflects Orient Electric’s positioning around quality and innovation while encouraging consumers to raise their expectations in everyday choices.

“‘Chalta Hai, Ab Nahi Chalega’ is our call to hold ourselves to higher standards in our choices, our homes, and the legacy we leave behind,” Agarwal said.

The campaign will be promoted across social media, out-of-home advertising and live-animation digital billboards during the Independence Day period.
