CoverSure launches policy audit tool for smarter health insurance renewals

CoverSure has launched a new service called Policy Health Check, aimed at helping consumers review their health insurance policies before renewal and avoid continuing with unsuitable coverage by default.

The tool allows users to submit basic policy information, following which their insurance cover is assessed across close to 30 key parameters. Based on the evaluation, policyholders receive a detailed review highlighting gaps, redundancies or areas that may require changes. Users can then decide whether to retain their existing policy, adjust or consider porting to another insurer.

CoverSure said the platform is supported by a database covering over 1,500 health insurance products from 60 insurers, enabling an impartial and comprehensive review. The service also includes a complimentary consultation with an IRDAI-certified expert, helping users understand the findings and clarify coverage-related concerns.

According to the company, the solution is particularly relevant for customers nearing renewal, individuals within the free-look period, and long-term policyholders whose coverage may no longer align with changes in health, family structure or financial circumstances.

Saurabh Vijayvergia, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CoverSure, said health insurance is often treated as a passive product, reviewed only during renewals or claims. He added that the Policy Health Check is intended to help consumers take informed control of their insurance decisions and ensure their premiums translate into effective protection. The service is priced at Rs 99.

CoverSure said the launch reflects its broader focus on transparency and consumer-first insurance solutions, encouraging users to actively manage their health coverage rather than treating it as a routine renewal.
