LatentView Analytics has launched the sixth season of its Chennai Kaalpandhu League (CKL), bringing together more than 700 young footballers from government schools across Chennai for a week-long Under-13 tournament.
The latest edition features 43 boys’ and girls’ teams representing 30 government schools. The league was inaugurated by Akhil Prakash, Chief Operating Officer, Chennaiyin FC, at Pavendar Bharathidasan Play Field in Shenoy Nagar.
The initiative aims to provide children with opportunities to participate in organised competition while developing football skills and learning important values such as teamwork, discipline and perseverance.
Now in its sixth year, CKL has reached more than 1,500 children through after-school coaching, technical training and competitive exposure. Beyond sporting development, the programme seeks to help young participants build confidence, develop a passion for football and experience a stronger sense of community.
The league has also produced encouraging outcomes, with former participants progressing into competitive sporting opportunities. Ishwarya A is now part of the Tamil Nadu State Football Team (Junior), while Hariharan S has received a Sports Authority of India scholarship. CKL alumna Maruva Farzeen has also received a sports scholarship from the Tamil Nadu government.

The sixth season of the Chennai Kaalpandhu League will continue until September 12, with the boys’ and girls’ finals scheduled for the evening of September 12.
