Zee Media strengthens revenue growth through advertising and digital expansion

Zee Media Corporation Limited has reported consolidated operating revenue of Rs 190.85 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, registering a 4.7 per cent year-on-year increase from Rs 182.36 crore in Q1 FY26.

Advertising revenue emerged as the key growth driver, rising 47.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 179.71 crore from Rs 121.66 crore. Subscription revenue also increased 9.9 per cent to Rs 11.14 crore from Rs 10.13 crore during the corresponding quarter.

Operating expenditure stood at Rs 174.59 crore, while operating profit (EBITDA) was reported at Rs 16.26 crore.

Raktim Das, CEO, Zee Media Corporation, said the company is taking strategic steps to unlock the potential of its content and technology capabilities, combining editorial expertise with technology, data and AI.

Das said the company is working to transition from a conventional advertising-led news organisation towards a more diversified revenue model, while strengthening its flagship brands, expanding regional operations and developing digital properties with new monetisation opportunities.

During the quarter, Zee News and Zee 24 Ghanta delivered extensive coverage of the West Bengal elections, including constituency-level reporting, data-led analysis, polling-day developments and counting-day updates. Zee Media’s regional network also covered elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry.

Its international news platform WION hosted the Global Leadership & Innovation Summit in Sri Lanka, bringing together policymakers, business leaders and experts to discuss India-Sri Lanka relations and areas of collaboration.

Zee Media also organised 36 events during the quarter across sectors including healthcare, travel and tourism, public policy, business, leadership, education, culture and community.

The company expanded its infotainment and cultural intellectual property portfolio through Bhojpuri Samman, while Zee Bharat continued its brand transformation through initiatives such as Green Champions.

Zee Business also expanded its event-led properties, including Money Alpha, Wealth Summit and Bharose Ki Choice. According to Tubular, Zee Business ranked first among its competitors in YouTube VOD video views during Q1.

The company is also integrating AI-led tools into newsroom and content workflows, with applications spanning reporting, operational efficiency, data-driven storytelling and workflow management.

Zee Media said its focus remains on strengthening editorial content, developing intellectual properties, expanding regional and international operations, growing digital initiatives and using technology to create new business and monetisation opportunities.
