Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh, joined hands with Riseonic, Vamana Group and Dhir Constructions to organise a three-day sustainability-focused initiative in celebration of World Environment Day, encouraging passengers to embrace environmentally responsible practices.
Held from June 4 to 6, the campaign was designed to engage travellers through a meaningful environmental activity while reinforcing the airport’s commitment to sustainability and community outreach. The initiative was executed by Times OOH and Spell Communications, with support from Godrej Secure and Upload Communication as the Digital Marketing Partner.
As part of the programme, thousands of arriving passengers were presented with complimentary plant saplings at a dedicated kiosk set up within the airport premises. The activity aimed to inspire travellers to contribute to environmental conservation by taking home a living reminder of sustainability.

The campaign commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by officials from Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) and senior representatives from the Vamana Group. The launch set the stage for a series of passenger engagement activities focused on spreading awareness about environmental protection and sustainable living.
Commenting on the initiative, Ajay Verma, CEO, Chandigarh Airport, said, “World Environment Day provides an opportunity to engage travelers in a meaningful way while reinforcing the importance of sustainable living. Through this initiative, we aim to create a positive impact that extends beyond the airport and into the communities our passengers call home.”
Amit Gulati, Co-Founder, Riseonic, added, “We are delighted to be part of an initiative that encourages environmental consciousness among thousands of travelers. Each sapling distributed represents a small but meaningful step towards building a greener future.”

Supporting the campaign, Pushkar Gokhale, Security Solutions Division, Godrej Enterprises, said, “At Godrej Secure, sustainability has always been at the core of our values. We are delighted to support this initiative, which encourages individuals to take a simple yet powerful step towards environmental stewardship.
