Adobe and YouTube have partnered to launch a new creation hub within Adobe Premiere mobile on iOS, designed specifically for YouTube Shorts creators.
Announced on Monday, the integrated workspace offers exclusive templates, transitions and effects tailored for vertical video, along with the ability to publish directly to YouTube Shorts. The collaboration aims to accelerate video production and help creators move quickly from concept to upload using only their phones.
The new hub provides a curated toolset for high-engagement formats such as vlogs, travel clips, behind-the-scenes footage and short-form storytelling. With YouTube intensifying its competition against TikTok and Instagram Reels, the partnership gives creators a streamlined workflow without relying on editing tools from rival platforms such as CapCut or Meta’s Edits.
A key aspect of the integration is its tight linkage with YouTube. According to Meagan Keane, director of product marketing for digital video and audio at Adobe, creators will be able to discover a template in their Shorts feed and open it directly in Premiere mobile for customisation. Adobe notes that the workspace has been built specifically for YouTube Shorts, enabling a more direct editing pipeline compared with general-purpose mobile editors.
Inside the hub, users can access templates crafted by well-known YouTubers, complete with preset transitions, graphic styles and structural layouts. These can be customised with individual footage, colour edits, audio layers and personalised typography. Creators can also build their own templates for future use or share them with the wider community.
Access to the hub requires only a free Premiere mobile account and a YouTube profile. After downloading Premiere from the App Store, users can enter the Shorts workspace by selecting the “Create for YouTube” option. From there, they can import clips from the iPhone library, cloud storage or Adobe Creative Cloud and edit them using Premiere’s mobile toolkit, including clip trimming, audio layering, captioning and colour adjustments.
The partnership establishes Adobe as a central editing tool within YouTube’s Shorts ecosystem and gives creators a mobile-first workflow that eliminates the need for platform switching. For YouTube, the move strengthens its competitive position by tying content creation directly into its ecosystem. For creators, it provides a faster, more integrated way to keep pace with the rapid evolution of short-form video trends.
