Google has announced a partnership with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to advance quality education across India. This initiative aims to provide students, teachers and parents with engaging and accessible educational content, promoting inclusivity and technological integration in the country’s learning ecosystem.
As part of this collaboration, NCERT will launch dedicated YouTube channels for grades 1 to 12 in the coming months. These channels will provide educational content in 29 Indian languages, including Indian Sign Language, ensuring access for diverse learners across the nation.
The company has launched the Key Concepts feature, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify and define concepts in educational videos. This tool spans subjects like biology, physics and chemistry, drawing data from Google’s Knowledge Graph to enhance comprehension through visuals and concise definitions.
Further, Google’s YouTube Player for Education has been integrated into popular platforms such as Google Classroom, Quizizz and Teachmint, enabling interactive lessons and formative assessments in classrooms worldwide.
This strategic partnership marks a significant step in leveraging technology to transform education in India. With NCERT and Google driving initiatives for inclusivity and innovation, the collaboration is poised to inspire similar efforts globally.
