SSI signs MoU with SMSIMSR to establish new robotic cardiac surgery and training center

SS Innovations International (SSI) has announced that Dr. Sudhir Prem Srivastava, Founding Chairman and CEO, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR).

SS Innovations and SMSIMSR have partnered to establish a cutting-edge Robotic Cardiac Surgery and Training Center at SMSIMSR, aiming to make world-class surgical care accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Dr. Srivastava also committed to supporting the first 100 robotic surgeries at the institute, funding maintenance of the system for five years, and spearheading surgeon training programs across various specialties.

The MoU was signed during a ceremony at SS Innovations’ headquarters in Gurugram, attended by revered spiritual leader Shri Sadguru Madhusudan Sai.

“This collaboration exemplifies the spirit of service and innovation. By combining advanced, homegrown surgical technology with a mission rooted in inclusive healthcare, we aim to bridge the healthcare divide and bring robotic surgery to the people who need it most,” said Dr. Srivastava.

The initiative will position SMSIMSR as South India’s premier robotic surgery training hub, covering a wide spectrum of disciplines including adult and paediatric cardiac surgery, thoracic, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, and head and neck surgery.

Shri Sadguru Madhusudan Sai, founder of SMSIMSR, welcomed the collaboration and announced Dr. Srivastava’s appointment as an Honorary Professor at the institute.

“His global expertise will help shape the future of robotic surgery in India. Together, we are transforming the narrative of healthcare from privilege to fundamental right,” he said.

SS Innovations International, Inc. develops, and markets surgical robotic technologies designed to be affordable and accessible to a wider global population.

Its modular SSI Mantra System supports up to five robotic arms and is equipped with features such as a 3D 4K visualisation system, ergonomic surgeon command center, and over 40 types of endo-surgical instruments.
