Wavar, an Agritech startup, has extended its Integrated Pest Management (IPM) solutions to over 50 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), covering over 1,000 acres of pilot plots across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat. This expansion underscores Wavar’s growing influence in the agricultural sector, a statement from the company noted.

The statement added that this expansion marks a major shift in how FPOs manage pest control, with Wavar’s sustainable approach helping farmers transition to environmentally friendly practices. By producing cleaner, low-residue crops, FPOs are gaining access to export markets and fetching premium prices, further enhancing business margins.

Speaking on the initiative, Sanjay Shirodkar, Co-Founder, Wavar, stated in the statement, “FPOs are crucial to the growth of Indian agriculture, and we are proud to partner with them to drive sustainable and low-residue farming. Our goal is to provide FPOs with the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive market, reducing input costs while delivering higher-quality produce. This partnership will have a lasting impact on Indian agriculture.”

Wavar’s IPM model is designed specifically for FPOs, providing crop-specific, flexible solutions that go beyond traditional pest control methods. By offering a per-acre service, the company has helped FPOs reduce input costs, improve crop quality and build sustainable farming businesses. FPO members can now grow low-residue crops that meet stringent European Union standards, increasing their profitability through reduced cultivation costs and access to higher-value markets.

The partnerships have already shown results. By reducing reliance on chemical pesticides through its IPM solutions, farmers have significantly lowered production costs while improving soil health and crop quality. As Wavar expands into more states, the company remains committed to deliver innovative, sustainable pest-management solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern agriculture.
