The transforming journey of digital lending

B2B Market Media (B2B) | The Founder Media (TFM) organised the second edition of LendTechX 2024 in Mumbai on 25th October. The conclave, with the theme, “Beyond Boundaries: The Evolution of Digital Lending,” explored the transformative journey of digital lending, looking at how advancements in technology are reshaping the way lending services are accessed, processed and delivered.

The event began with the lamp-lighting ceremony after which Sunil Kulkarni, CEO, Business Correspondent Federation of India (BCFI), addressed the audience, in the inaugural session, about the transformative journey of digital lending, and how technology is driving innovation and inclusion.

Following Kulkarni’s address, the following panel discussions took place:

  • Co-Lending and customer experience: Enhancing borrower satisfaction: This session saw panellists discussing how co-lending—where two or more lenders collaborate to jointly provide loans to a borrower—can improve customer satisfaction by delivering a more seamless, flexible and efficient borrowing experience. The panellists included Dr Suresh A Shan, Former Head BITS, MMFL; Jasoda Gulliya, SVP- Strategic Alliances and Partnerships, AgriWise; Anirban Ghosh, CRO, Mirae Asset Financial Services; Mayank Jain, Director-Wholesale Lending, CredAble and Harshit Desai, FinTech Adviser – Product and Digital Design, Centrum India.
  • Harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for next-gen lending solutions: In this discussion, the experts deep dived into how AI and ML are being used to revolutionise lending by making it faster, more personalised and more accessible. The panellists included Rohit Kumar, Partner, PwC; Ashok Mittal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), BillMart FinTech; Jay Prakash Gupta, Founder, Dhan; Aditi Singh, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Satin Creditcare Network; Gautam Bandyopadhyay, CEO, Trustt and Rohit Ramachandran, Co-Founder and CEO, Neowise Technologies
  • Emerging cyber threats in the financial sector: What to watch out for: In this session, the leaders explored the latest cybersecurity challenges facing financial institutions as cybercriminals continuously evolve their tactics to exploit vulnerabilities in the digital landscape.  The panellists included Sumit Sharma, Founder, Radian Finserv; Dheeraj Mittal, COO, Hiranandani Financial Services; Dinesh Babu, Assistant Vice President- IT, Equitas Small Finance Bank and Dr Suresh A Shan, Former Head BITS, MMFL.
  • The future of digital lending: Innovations and predictions: The experts, in this session, explored he transformative shifts in digital lending as new technologies, customer expectations and regulatory demands reshape the industry. The panellists included Jatinder Mohan Singh Shah, CEO, Mantra Capital; Pramod Kathuria, CEO, Easiloan; Vitthal Naik, CTO, Profectus Capital; Sabhyasachi Rath, Co-Founder and CEO, Purple Finance; Nikhil Bandi, CTO, CDO and COO, APAC Financial Services;  Shalya Gupta, CEO, Credifin and Rupam Mazumder, Digital Head, ECL Finance.

The day also witnessed the LendTech X-Factor awards ceremony that celebrated and honoured outstanding achievements in the LendTech and innovations space. The winners of the LendTech X-Factor Awards are as follows:
