Seekho secures $8 million in Series A funding led by lightspeed

Seekho, an online learning platform known for its short, impactful learning videos across diverse categories, has raised $8 million in its Series A funding round. The round was led by Lightspeed and saw participation from existing investor, Elevation Capital, according to a LinkedIn post by co-founder and CEO Rohit Choudhary.

The funding announcement follows reports earlier this year that the company was targeting a valuation of $45 million, with investors eyeing a 20 per cent stake in the startup.

Founded in 2020 by Rohit Choudhary, Keertay Agarwal and Yash Banwani, Seekho aims to empower individuals in Tier II cities and beyond by providing skill-based learning opportunities through short 2-5 minute video series. The platform covers a wide range of topics, including parenting, the stock market, technology and business, and offers flexible subscription plans starting at just Rs 149 per week.

This latest funding follows a $3 million seed round raised in March 2023, also led by Elevation Capital and other investors. The new capital infusion will support Seekho’s growth strategy as it continues to cater to the evolving needs of learners in India’s rapidly transforming education sector.

The announcement comes amid a period of turbulence in the Indian EdTech landscape, with larger players like BYJU’S facing financial challenges. Seekho’s success underscores the demand for innovative, accessible, and value-driven learning solutions in the market.
