Blinkit, according to the reports, is developing a new category of high-value items that will be delivered within 30 minutes. Known for its 10-minute grocery deliveries, Blinkit is now exploring new product categories to enhance profitability.

The report revealed that Blinkit is preparing to establish larger ‘express dark stores’ for delivering items such as instant water heaters, jewellery and air purifiers. These larger warehouses, spanning 7,000 to 8,000 square feet, will support the storage and rapid dispatch of bulkier products.

This move comes as the quick commerce industry looks for ways to diversify and improve margins as the market matures. Blinkit is expected to launch the new service in mid-FY26, aiming to increase its average order value (AOV) and compete with giants like Flipkart and Amazon.

Currently, Blinkit has one of the highest AOVs in the rapid delivery space at Rs 614, surpassing competitors Swiggy Instamart and Zepto, whose AOVs range between Rs 450 and Rs 480.
