Amazon India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ARGA, an initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government, to support women entrepreneurs in Gonda district by enabling them to leverage ecommerce for business growth.
As part of the collaboration, Amazon will extend its Saheli programme to women-led businesses under Brand ARGA, equipping them with training in digital marketing, performance marketing, product listing optimisation and advertising strategies. The Saheli programme, an Amazon initiative, aims to empower women entrepreneurs across India by providing them with access to the Amazon marketplace, marketing support and logistical assistance.
Additionally, women entrepreneurs from the region will benefit from data-driven insights and metrics, helping them better understand customer preferences and market opportunities to scale their businesses effectively.
The partnership was officially launched during the World Wetlands Day celebration at the Parvati Arga Bird Sanctuary in Gonda.
This initiative comes at a time when India’s startup ecosystem is witnessing a transformative shift, with women entrepreneurs playing an increasingly significant role.
