18th NBFC & FinTech Conclave & Awards concludes in Chennai

B2B Market Media | The Founder Media organised the 18th edition of NBFC & FinTech Conclave & Awards 2024 on 13th December in Chennai. The conclave, with the theme, “NBFCs: The Rise of Indian Economy,” Powered by Docchain.io by Print2Block, explored the transformative journey of Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) on various facets of technology from present to future development and its efficacy.

The event began with the Welcome Address by Isha Srivastava, DGM-Conference Strategy, The Founder Media | B2B Market Media.

Welcoming the audience, she stated, “Today, we will explore how NBFCs, in collaboration with the FinTech sector, are fuelling India’s rise on the global economic stage. We’ll dive into emerging trends like co-lending and discuss opportunities for deeper partnerships that can lead to greater financial empowerment. Our agenda is packed with sessions that will showcase the best practices and innovative solutions paving the way for the future of finance.”

Following the Welcome Address, Joji Varghese, Founder and CEO, Print2Block, shared a technical presentation with the audience on “Building a True Digital Trust Infrastructure for Securing your Financial Documents-Empowering your Digital Transformation.”

Following it, Pradeep Benni, Head-Cloud Engagement and Alliances, Anker Cloud and Balaji TK, AV-IT, FlexiLoans, had an engaging Fireside Chat followed by a panel discussion on “Co-Lending: An Emerging Trend in NBFCs.” In this session, the panellists explored the collaborative model between banks and NBFCs, highlighting its role in expanding credit access, managing risks and driving financial inclusion. Moderated by Venkatesh Kannappan, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aham Housing Finance, the paneliists in this discusion included Ramesh Kumar Aravamuthan, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), LaRaksha Impact Finance Enterprise; Gorav Gupta, Co-Founder and Director, DigiMoney Finance; Anjan Dasgupta, MD, ASA International India Microfinance; Nalini Chinta, Head-Co-Lending and Strategic Initiatives, Avanti Finance and Harshit Desai, FinTech Advisor–Product, Digital and Design, Centrum Capital.

The conclave proceeded further with another technical presentation by Aditya P, Founder and CEO, Doqfy on ‘Upgrading Your Business Contract Management to the 21st Century.’

The conclave moved further with three consecutive panel discussions as follows:

(a) How Emerging Technologies are Helping NBFCs Evolve: This panel discussion highlighted how innovations like Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain and cloud computing are revolutionising NBFC operations. The panellists discussed their impact on enhancing customer experience, streamlining processes and mitigating risks, offering a roadmap for technology-driven growth and resilience in the NBFC sector. The panel was moderated by Sumit Sharma, Founder, Radian Finserv. The panellists included V Sendil Kumar, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Shriram Capital; Prasenjit Datta, CTO, Vivriti Capital and Agri Gurunath N, Executive Director, Samunnati Financial Intermediation.

(b) The Future of AI in Digital Lending: This panel discussion delved into AI’s transformative role in automating credit assessments, enhancing customer personalisation and detecting fraud. Panellists shared insights on overcoming implementation challenges and predicted AI’s pivotal influence on driving efficiency and inclusivity in the digital lending landscape. The session was moderated by Dr Kumaran Sampath, MD and CEO, AEGMA Capital. The panellists included Rahul Tripathy, CPO, Dvara KGFS; Swapnil Dixit, VP-Products, Avanti Finance; Balaji TK, AVP Engineering, Flexiloans and Harshit Desai, FinTech Advisor–Product, Digital and Design, Centrum Capital.

(c) The Impact of Cybersecurity on Digital Transformation: The concluding panel emphasised the critical role of robust cybersecurity in safeguarding digital innovations. Industry leaders explored strategies to address evolving threats, ensure data integrity and build trust, highlighting how cybersecurity has become a cornerstone for successful and sustainable digital transformation. The session was moderated by Kumanan VC, MD and CEO, Abhayaa Cyber Solutions. The panellists included Ajay Ghosh, CEO, Invest Gold General Finance; Srinivasan Balraj, Vice President-National Head, Information Security Audit and Compliance, Muthoot Fincorp and Dinesh Babu, Assistant Vice President-Information Security, Equitas Small Finance Bank.

The day also witnessed the 18th NBFC & Fintech Awards 2024 ceremony that celebrated and honoured outstanding achievements in NBFC space. The award winners are:
